The campaign to save the Newbridge Memorial Hall, has got off to a really good start. Over two hundred people attended a public meeting last year to save the Memo. As a result the support group Friends of the Newbridge Memo was formed, a committee was elected and the organisation is now a registered charity. In a little over twelve months the campaign has gained significant press coverage and has been nominated for the prestigious BBC2 Television Restoration programme. One of the spin-offs will undoubtedly be a huge increase in publicity and large numbers of people who will want to know more and will come visit the Memo.
